Chair Sidna Madden Trimmel called the meeting to order at 9:01 a.m.

Public Comments: The Oklahoma City Mayor’s Committee on Disability Concerns welcomes citizens comments at the beginning of each meeting. Comments shall be limited to three (3) minutes and citizens must sign in at least five (5) minutes before the meeting is scheduled to begin. Citizens that are not committee members are not permitted to participate in regular meeting discussion. By signing up for comments, you acknowledge the commenting procedures of the committee.

  • Events are increasing – preparing for the Fair and Down Syndrome Association 5K run and walk.

City ADA Coordinator – Keith Wilkinson

  • Paseo Arear – sidewalk renovation for the streetcars.
  • Scissor Tail Park and City Hall are getting adult changing tables
  • PROWAG is now a federal regulation – waiting for standards.

  • Larry Hopper – OKC Trails Advisory – Bike Walk Plans – not much about accessibility
  • Keith Wilkinson – Traffic Commission – planners are now going to start sidewalk additions with main streets first not residential.
  • Ken Wyatt – Downtown – SW Corner of 15th and Portland – New Boy Scout Building
  • Lori Wathen – Parks Commission- no accessibility Issues. They are doing programming: Oct 5th, Martin Park – Disability classes and guided hikes from 6:30 to 8 pm; Sellers Park disability classes, and on Oct. 30, Sellers Park Trunk or Treat from 6:30 to 8.
  • Jackie Haverly – Zoo and Library no accessible issues

  • Wrights Law, Sept. 4 at Francis Tuttle Portland Campus.
  • White Cane Safety Day, Oct. 13, from 11-12 Downtown Library
