Public Comments: The Oklahoma City Mayor’s Committee on Disability Concerns welcomes citizens comments at the beginning of each meeting. Comments shall be limited to three (3) minutes and citizens must sign-in at least five (5) minutes before the meeting is scheduled to begin. Announcements from Members
Lori Wathen reported about a new grant from Sooner Success and Area-wide Aging Services-the grant provides $2,000 to 4,500 to meet a persons COVID-19 needs. Must provide a plan and the grant expires September.
Lori also reported The ARC is also offering a statewide grant for respite care providing up to $1,000 allow caregivers provide care and take a break.
Marilyn Dillon reported that EMBARK has a new route to the new grocery store opening up in the Northeast Area. The Senior Transit grocery delivery is still running call 405-297-2983 for more information.
Heather Hancock reported that the Happy Trails Civitan Club is having their OKC Beautiful LitterBlitz on April 27th. She also reported that there were several bills important to the Downs Community and asked everyone to call their Senator or Representative in support of those bills.
