Call to Order

Chair Sidna Madden called the meeting to order at  9:11 am

Introductions and Welcome: Director of Disability Services Tabitha Pope from Southern Nazareen University

Committee introduced themselves.

Public Comments: The Oklahoma City Mayor’s Committee on Disability Concerns welcomes citizens comments at the beginning of each meeting. Comments shall be limited to three (3) minutes and citizens must sign-in at least five (5) minutes before the meeting is scheduled to begin. Citizens that are not committee members are not permitted to participate in regular meeting discussion. By signing up for comments, you acknowledge the commenting procedures of the committee.

Chair – Sidna Madden

  • Executive Committee met and discussed attendance, we decided to remove Brittany David and James Timberlake. At the end of the year, we will review Dr. Asin, Curtis Singleton, Sandi Webster,
    • Herb Bailey will be on the committee till he wants to quit.
    • Nedra Ruth resigned.
    • We have applications in from Rochelle Alexander and Tom Burke. If Rochelle attends in July, we will take a vote in August on membership. Tom did tell us he had a conflict, so if he attends July and August then we will vote in September on membership.
  • Agenda’s meeting procedures and reports. Reports for the subcommittees should be reports only. Save other information for the announcements section.

  • Making the transition from Covid task back to their normal tasks. Severly under staffed right now.

  • Received another one award. Needs subcommittee members.
  • Keith Wilkinson and Ken Wyatt joined the Awards subcommittee.
  • Sidna reported for the guest about the Awards, ADA Special Session and Luncheon. She stated that we are going to attempt to give awards away at the October City Council Meeting.

Audit — Marilyn Dillon

Barrier Free Design — Scott Ellis

  • He went out and checked some parking lots that were being restriped and didn’t have a lot of input, contractors have really got on board with ADA rules.

Outreach — Herb Bailey

Emergency Response — Ken Wyatt

  • Got two Certificates from Mayor, he’s going to deliver soon.

Announcements from Members

  • Lori Wathen: The Autism Peace Walk is this Saturday (6/12/21) night from 6 to 8 pm at Scissor Tail Park.
