New Business

Sensory Holiday Party

Sooner SUCCESS would like to request $250 donation to assist with their Sensory Holiday Party that will be held on Saturday, Dec 14th from 2:00pm-4:00pm at Draper Park Christian Church located at 8500 S Santa Fe. OKC. This money will be used to purchase cookies and hot cocoa for refreshments. Last year we had approx. 200 attendees.

MCDC can have a booth at the event if they choose and we will have signage at dessert/drink table stating courtesy of or provided by MCDC. We cannot offer these events for families raising a child/adult with a disability without the support of our community partners as our state grant funding does not allow food purchases.

We will continue to meet monthly at 9 a.m. here at the OKC Central Maintenance Facility Training Center, on the second Wednesday of each month. What are your thoughts on moving the meetings to the third Wednesday of each month?

New By-law Change

Proposed by-laws change

We create a membership called the “Permanent Membership”. This is for organizations that are either City, County, or State, or Federal agencies. The permanent organizations will be removed from the regular rolls. This class will then be able to send a representative of their organization to the meeting should the appointed member not be available. This will increase participation and regular updates.

I propose the following organizations be placed into this category:

  • The OKC VA Hospital
  • Embark
  • OKC City Police Department Emergency Management
  • Oklahoma Department of Rehabilitation Services
  • OKC ADA Coordinator
  • Oklahoma Disability Law Center
