Reports from Emergency Management and City ADA Coordinator
Emergency Management – Frank Barnes
- Covid19 downward trend of cases but still need to be cautious. Still need to get vaccinated. Check with City-County Health Department for clinics.
- Gov’s state of emergency was rescinded May 4 and the Mayor’s state of emergency expired April 30
- Getting into tornado season; be weather aware;
- Sidna asked if there was any way to track people with disabilities getting vaccinated. Frank said: No, the form doesn’t track that.
- Scott asked does the state include numbers from the VA?
- Tom Burke asked if there is an app for severe weather? Frank said OKC recommends the American Red Cross. News stations. Weather Radio is a paid app that he uses. There’s another app, Weather Call that is more specific to where you live.
City ADA Coordinator – Keith Wilkinson
- I missed last month’s mtg.
- A couple of things: Ramps at the convention center; the 3rd floor has a mezzanine and has an elevator and ramp. The first meeting had a lot of people with disabilities in wheelchairs and the elevator only holds two at a time. A recommendation for more ramps to MAPS Committee and appears they are going to happen. It should be easy to do.
- Contact by a citizen, Adult changing stations and she wants a city-wide ordinance. That may be coming in the future.
- Lori said thank you Keith for consideration of adult changing stations. They are very important
