Call to Order

Secretary Sidna Madden Trimmel called the meeting to order at 9:09 am

Public Comments: The Oklahoma City Mayor’s Committee on Disability Concerns welcomes citizens comments at the beginning of each meeting. Comments shall be limited to three (3) minutes and citizens must sign in at least five (5) minutes before the meeting is scheduled to begin. Citizens that are not committee members are not permitted to participate in regular meeting discussion. By signing up for comments, you acknowledge the commenting procedures of the committee.

  • Sent February Minutes to committee by email a week ago

  • Ending balance $6,047.30 – No change from last month

Reports from Emergency Management and City ADA Coordinator

Emergency Management – Lt. Bryan Taylor / Capt. Audrea George

  • No report

City ADA Coordinator – Keith Wilkinson

  • Liz Scheffe reported that push buttons at crosswalks were not working, and we got them working. 13th and Hudson replaced three non-working buttons. 1 micropohone is not working but the part is on order.
  • The City is looking to create an policy for EV charging stations. Emergency manager is creating the policy and he attached the Access Board’s document on Design Recommendations for Accessible Electrical Vehicles charging stations. This document does not address is on street parking. We know its coming and this is to get the City ready.

Reports

ADA Workshop — Sidna Trimmell

  • Sidna has been in touch with Richard Sternadori.
  • Dana Tallon doesn’t mind resurrecting the award luncheon.
  • Joy Turner like having at City Council. She felt like it gave us more exposure.
  • Sidna its time consuming and expensive and we would have to start now.
  • Sidna asked if we should an awards luncheon and if not then scheduling Richard Sternadori would not have to be limited to October.
  • Adam could argue either way for it. I would almost be on board with Special Session separate.
  • Scott Ellis – have the class in the training facility and bring Mayor and Award Winners.
  • Sidna if we continued at the City Council Meetings we wouldn’t be able give all 10 awards.

  • No report/no severe weather

  • This is Cal and Linda’s third meeting

ODOT Survey – Larry Hopper – https://www.okatp.org

Larry was not there so Sidna Trimmell told the committee the survey was there and everyone should take it.

  • Parks Commission – Lori Wathen there is a survey for MAPS for Parks
  • Traffic and Transportation – Keith Wilkinson – no issues to report
  • Library Commission – Jackie Haverly – no issues to report
  • Zoo Trust – Jackie Haverly – no issues to report
  • COPTA – Liz Scheffe – Survey and some public meetings

Announcements from Members

  • Dana Tallon: Boards and Commissions – will be sent to the City.
